Maui Recycling Service

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

Maui is going Downhill when it comes to Recycling!
Our Government has made recycling very difficult
and shows no signs of improving.

Although the county has put hundreds
of thousands of tax payers dollars
into research for waste management since 1989
and even started a MRF (materials recovery facility) which was cancelled
virtually none of those recommendations have been followed,
and now the county is spending more on research instead
of actually doing something proactive to help our recycling/landfill problem!!!!

Besides this the county does not support mandatory recycling at all,
nor a curbside residential recycling program
they and other government agencies have caused problems
within the recycling infrastructure, making it harder and harder
for those of us already recycling to continue as is...
Most currently, the State Legislature and Governor misappropriated funds
out of an existing  glass recycling program.

Please read the the current Newsletter and the following
and if you care about the future of this Island and
want to help make a difference,
please write or call elected officials; The Mayor,
County Council members, the Governor...
Tell them you are angry and disappointed with their lack of
support for recycling on Maui and that we need a County
Sponsored MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) now!
